Background
I have more than 20 years of experience in food, beverage and lifestyle public relations, with an emphasis on emerging CPG and specialty food brands, culinary businesses and cookbooks.
Before establishing Chase, Ink. Public Relations, I went to cooking school and worked as a food editor at the Oakland Tribune and ANG Newspapers (now Bay Area News Group). I was a regular contributor to the newspaper group’s food section, writing features on topics ranging from delicate French macarons and frosty milkshakes to wheat-free baking and the art of recipe organizing. I also wrote the “Second Helpings” recipe column, helping readers locate long-lost recipes.
Prior to diving into the food world, I worked in KRON-TV’s public relations department for many years, when the television station was NBC’s San Francisco affiliate. I served as the station spokesperson and was a primary liaison with members of the media. I was also actively involved in advertising, marketing, video production and community relations, and worked closely with the station’s award-winning journalists. I have extensive media contacts and have formed long-standing relationships with journalists on the local and national levels.
While at KRON, I was honored with an award presented by the Golden Gate chapter of American Women in Radio and Television for outstanding achievements in San Francisco Bay Area broadcasting.
I graduated with honors from Tufts University and completed the professional culinary program at Tante Marie’s Cooking School. I’m a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) and the San Francisco chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, and I’ve served as a judge for the James Beard Media Awards for several years.
